Community Involvement
At Primera Plastics, we believe that part of our job is to make the community we thrive in better for all those with whom we share it.
We have addressed the skilled worker gap with programs like Primera Pathways. This program hires and trains underserved high school students, as well as provides transportation and life skill learning opportunities, to help open the door to the option of vocational work.
We host tours of our facility for community members, educators and potential business partners, as our way of remaining transparent and accessible to our community.
It’s a big world, but at Primera, we know the best way to make a positive impact is to begin in your own backyard.
Primera proudly partnered with Detroit Tigers, West Michigan Whitecaps and West Ottawa Public Schools to host the second annual weekend baseball camp for nearly three-dozen elementary and middle school children. Featuring former Detroit Tigers Juan Berenguer and Milt Cuyler, the camp focused on batting, fielding and other techniques. Along with sports and teamwork, an emphasis was put on respecting parents, teachers, and others, as well as encouragement and advice about working hard, staying in school and building a strong work ethic.
Primera Plastics organized a special camp that was centered around teaching young students the importance of doing your best on and off the field. The lessons that were learned from campers will greatly help them in their future. The camp helped build a great culture of togetherness and support for young students in the West Ottawa and Holland communities. I look forward to hopefully watching the event grow and positively impact our youth in the future.”
